Softball Recap: Ridgeland Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Ridgeland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past the Gilmer Bobcats 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Bobcats since August 12, 2023.

Kailynn Bailey and Alaina Shaver did most of the damage at the plate: Bailey went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Shaver went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Shaver a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Thomas, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Ridgeland lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 5-1 when they post two or more home runs.

Ridgeland's record now sits at 11-14. As for Gilmer, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-14.

Looking ahead, Ridgeland will take on Armuchee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Gilmer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
