Soccer Game Preview: North Polk vs. Perry

The North Polk Comets will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Perry Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Polk is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Two must be North Polk's lucky number: they beat Earlham with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Comets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Cardinals. That's two games straight that North Polk have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Perry was forced to settle for a draw. They and Denison-Schleswig finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday.

North Polk pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three matchups. Perry's draw gives them a new season record of 1-2-1.
