Softball Recap: Castle View Takes a Loss

Castle View extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 7-15. They came up short against the Legend Titans, falling 17-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 15, 2021, but that streak is no more.

As for Legend, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by eight runs or more this season.

For Legend's part, Maddie Kessel and Caylee Humphrey did most of the damage at the plate: Kessel went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Humphrey got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Kessel a new career-high. Vienne Wold was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Castle View will face off against Regis Jesuit at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Legend, they will challenge Chaparral at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
