Basketball Recap: Chula Vista Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Nancy Chavez and Isis Perez

Chula Vista lost against Olympian back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Chula Vista Spartans received a blow as they fell 57-39 to the Olympian Eagles. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Chula Vista's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isis Perez, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 17 points and six rebounds, and Nancy Chavez, who posted six points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Perez a new career-high in points.

Chula Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Olympian, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-8.

Chula Vista and Mount Miguel will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Chula Vista is facing Mount Miguel at the right time seeing as Mount Miguel is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Olympian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Academy of Our Lady of Peace at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
