Softball Recap: Midwest City Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Midwest City had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Casady on Tuesday. The Bombers put the hurt on the Cyclones with a sharp 13-1 win. The Bombers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Liv Davis was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Addy Scott was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Amari Russell was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Midwest City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .735. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Casady only posted an OBP of .150.

Midwest City's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Casady, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Midwest City will welcome El Reno at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Casady, they will venture away from home to face off against Crossings Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
