Elizabeth entered their tilt with Widefield on Saturday with 18 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 19. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Gladiators a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Cardinals have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Aurelia Espinoza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Faith Carlson and Jessie VanAernam did most of the damage at the plate: Carlson got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while VanAernam went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI VanAernam has posted since back in September. Larissa Wesbrook was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Elizabeth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Widefield only posted an OBP of .000.

Elizabeth's record now sits at 23-2. As for Widefield, with the loss, they broke their 13-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-3.

Elizabeth will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gladiators: the pair will be back at it again later today.
