Soccer Game Preview: Carson vs. Maywood CES

The Carson Colts are taking a road trip to challenge the Maywood CES Wolfpack at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Carson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Carson managed to keep up with Banning until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Carson came up short against Banning, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 737th, while the Pilots are ranked 295th).

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Maywood CES rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by three goals or more this season.

Camila Arroyo and Kimberly Montes scored all three of Maywood CES' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Maywood CES' victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Carson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
