Basketball Recap: Salinas Triumphs

Salinas won the last time they faced North Salinas, and Alissa Escutia did her part to make sure it happened again. The Salinas Cowboys claimed a resounding 58-8 win over the North Salinas Vikings thanks in part to Escutia, who posted 16 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Salinas' record is now 5-6. As for North Salinas, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Salinas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 38-35 victory against Los Altos on the 3rd. As for North Salinas, they will look to defend their home court on January 10th against Stevenson at 7:00 p.m. Stevenson will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something North Salinas surely won't give up without a fight.
