Softball Recap: Bradwell Institute Tigers vs. Liberty County Panthers
Bradwell Institute extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Monday, dropping them down to 0-7. They lost 12-2 to the Liberty County Panthers. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 9-1 to the Panthers when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Liberty County, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by nine runs or more this season.
For Liberty County's part, Kayleigh Barnard was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Barnard was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adalyn Norton, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Brighton Harpe also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Coming up, Bradwell Institute will square off against First Preparatory Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty County, they will head out to face off against Long County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
