Softball Recap: Highway 6 Takes a Loss

Highway 6 extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 7-12. They came up short against the York Dukes, falling 6-0. If the Trailblazers were looking for revenge after losing 9-1 to the Dukes when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Highway 6 saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katherine Marshall, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for York, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-12. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

On York's side, the result came thanks to Kynlee Westwood's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. Westwood has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Makayla Snider, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September. Andi Winterrowd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Highway 6 does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for York, they will take on Hastings at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
