Baseball Recap: Walnut Grove Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Walnut Grove can now relate to. They came up short against the Marist War Eagles on Tuesday, falling 11-4. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this match were averaging 3.97 runs allowed.

Walnut Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Branson Blalock, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. Cade Trinkle was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Walnut Grove's loss dropped their record down to 20-14. As for Marist, they pushed their record up to 29-5 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home.

As of now, neither Walnut Grove nor the War Eagles have any future games scheduled.
