Basketball Recap: Smethport Takes a Loss

Smethport lost against Ridgway back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Smethport Hubbers took a blow against the Ridgway Elker, falling 55-26.

When it comes to explaining why Smethport lost, don't look at Payton Neff. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Hannah Taylor, who put up six points.

Smethport has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Ridgway, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 4-10 record.

Smethport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-40 loss against Johnsonburg on the 3rd. As for Ridgway, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-12 defeat against DuBois Central Catholic on the 3rd.
