Preview: Pacific Bay Christian Eagles vs. The Nueva School Mavericks

Pacific Bay Christian has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Nueva School Mavericks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The pair are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Pacific Bay Christian posted their biggest win yet this season on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 43-22 margin over Kehillah. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-4.

Pacific Bay Christian found their leader in underclassman Avery Lin, who scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals. Lin also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Savanna Munds, who scored 12 points along with two steals and two blocks.

Meanwhile, everything went The Nueva School's way against Pescadero on Thursday as The Nueva School made off with a 40-19 victory. The win was just what The Nueva School needed coming off of a 63-13 loss in their prior game.

Amrutha Rao was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with seven steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Anjali Mariathasan was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.

Pacific Bay Christian pushed their record up to 5-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for The Nueva School, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Pacific Bay Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 11.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for The Nueva School, though, as they've been averaging only 30.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
