Football Recap: Crystal Springs Takes a Loss

Crystal Springs extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-9. They had to suffer through a 45-0 loss at the hands of the Hazlehurst Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 29-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Hazlehurst, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Brandon Haines, who rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. He is becoming a predictor of Hazlehurst's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 4-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). The Indians also got a significant boost from Dontae Buie, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.

As of now, neither Crystal Springs nor Hazlehurst have any future games scheduled.
