Heritage extended their postseason success on Friday against Holy Spirit Prep. They were the clear victors by  a  12-1 margin over the Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won eight matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Heritage let  Sean Covey and  Robby Knight run wild. Covey  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI, while  Knight  went 2-for-3 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  Covey has posted since back in March.  Griggs Smith was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
Heritage is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Holy Spirit Prep,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 7-10.
 Coming up, Heritage will face off against Edmund Burke Academy on Friday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8  runs per game  this season, so the Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Holy Spirit Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
