Softball Recap: Mountain Range Comes Up Short

Mountain Range saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 12-8 to the Thornton Trojans.

Omari Salazar Rodriguez was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Salazar Rodriguez, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Mountain Range's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Thornton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-1-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Range will square off against Pomona at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thornton, they will head out to take on Arvada at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
