Soccer Game Preview: Central Valley vs. Oroville

The Central Valley Falcons will be taking part in a tournament against the Oroville Tigers at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Central Valley was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Durham a 1-0 shutout. Central Valley's winning goal came courtesy of Katlyn Doers.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Oroville's offense. They lost 5-0 to West Valley on Thursday. Oroville have struggled against West Valley recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The win got Central Valley back to even at 1-1. As for Oroville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Central Valley skirted past Oroville 2-1 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
