Football Recap: Longview Skates Past Tyler Legacy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Longview). They claimed a resounding 63-20 victory over the Tyler Legacy Raiders. The Lobos have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders on Friday, too.

JOHNNY HAMILTON was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 302 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 65 yards and one score on only eight carries. What's more, he posted two passing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was MASON WASHINGTON, who rushed for 74 yards and three TDs.

Despite the defeat, Tyler Legacy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bam White rushed for 84 yards and three scores.

Longview now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Tyler Legacy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Longview is set to square off against their familiar foe Rockwall-Heath at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Tyler Legacy will face off against rival Rockwall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
