Softball Recap: Fruita Monument Takes a Loss

Fruita Monument was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ponderosa Mustangs. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Fruita Monument saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Cutshall, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Lexi Hulet was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Fruita Monument's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Ponderosa, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Coming up, Fruita Monument will face off against Palisade at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Ponderosa has already played their next contest (against Eaglecrest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
