Basketball Game Preview: Stargate School Eagles vs. The Academy Wildcats

The Stargate School Eagles will venture away from home to face off against The Academy Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Stargate School and three for The Academy.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 47-15, which was the final score in Stargate School's tilt against Forge Christian on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Fury are ranked 94th).

Olivia Aune was Stargate School's leading scorer, having posted six points. Aune also led the team in rebounds with eight.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-22, which was the final score in The Academy's tilt against Denver Christian on Tuesday.

The Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Stargate School, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Stargate School came out on top in a nail-biter against The Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, sneaking past 31-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
