Lampasas extended their winning streak to six on Thursday, bumping them up to 6-0. They walked away with a 42-35 victory over the Lorena Leopards. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Badgers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Lampasas' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was KJ Reed, who rushed for 134 yards on only 12 carries. Reed's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 rushing yards. Wesley Stephens helped out on the ground, rushing for 140 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lampasas was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 299 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Lampasas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Coulter Sellers, Trent Rogers, and Tate Langford picked up one apiece. With that strong performance, Sellers is now averaging an impressive 5.6 total tackles per game. Campbell Roberts was another major factor on D, picking up three sacks, forcing one fumble, and making eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).

As for Lorena, they now have a losing record of 2-3. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Lorena still got an impressive performance from Jaxon Blancett, who threw for 389 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 41 yards. Carson Miller was another key player, picking up 113 receiving yards and one score.

Lampasas and Lorena will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Badgers are set to face off against their familiar foe Brownwood at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th. Meanwhile, Lorena will take on rival Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
