Soccer Recap: Santa Ynez Find Success

Santa Ynez won the last time they faced Morro Bay and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Santa Ynez Pirates came out on top in a nail-biter against the Morro Bay Pirates, sneaking past 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Santa Ynez was the better team in the second half.

Hannah Ricci and Bella Rubio scored both of Santa Ynez's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

The win made it two in a row for Santa Ynez and bumps their season record up to 3-4. As for Morro Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Ynez will head out to take on Arroyo Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arroyo Grande is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season. As for Morro Bay, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mendota at 2:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
