Preview: Del Campo Cougars vs. Mesa Verde Mavericks
Del Campo has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mesa Verde Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Del Campo suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They took a serious blow against Christian Brothers, falling 81-12. While losing is never fun, Del Campo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1135th, while Christian Brothers is ranked 102nd).
Meanwhile, Mesa Verde's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Rio Linda on the road and fell 52-9. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mesa Verde has scored all season.
Del Campo has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Mesa Verde, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
