Baseball Game Preview: Eastside Eagles vs. Walnut Grove Warriors

Eastside hasn't had much luck against Walnut Grove recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eastside Eagles will challenge the Walnut Grove Warriors at 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Eastside's offense. They came up short against Walnut Grove on Tuesday, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Walnut Grove's part, Eastside's batters probably weren't too happy with Sam Martell, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up zero walks). Martell has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jarrod Cook, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Gary Staffins was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Walnut Grove's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Eastside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
