Baseball Game Preview: St. Mary's Prep Eaglets vs. Northville Mustangs

The St. Mary's Prep Eaglets are taking a road trip to square off against the Northville Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

St. Mary's Prep was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Seaholm on Thursday. The Eaglets were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Maples. The result was nothing new for the Eaglets, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Northville entered their tilt with Belleville on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 15-0 shutout. Give the Mustangs' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

St. Mary's Prep's win bumped their record up to 26-6. As for Northville, their victory bumped their record up to 16-12.

St. Mary's Prep came up short against Northville when the teams last played back in May of 2018, falling 10-5. Can the Eaglets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
