Basketball Game Preview: Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs vs. Elm Creek Buffaloes + Official Tickets

The Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Elm Creek Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller made easy work of Wilcox-Hildreth and carried off a 53-29 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Taryn Arbuthnot was nothing short of spectacular: she almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Mia Scoville, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 12 points and three steals.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Elm Creek over Bertrand in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Buffaloes blew the Vikings out of the water with a 74-31 final score. Fans of the Buffaloes have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's record is now 2-0. As for Elm Creek, their record now sits at 3-0.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller came up short against Elm Creek in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 59-47. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
