Baseball Recap: Pennfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against Northwest on Tuesday, Pennfield came back down to earth. The Panthers fell 6-3 to the Lakewood Vikings on Friday. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Vikings since Friday.

Pennfield's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-10-2. As for Lakewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season.

Pennfield will head out on the road to face off against Galesburg-Augusta at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Lakewood, they will challenge Harper Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
