Football Recap: Scituate Piles Up the Points Against Toll Gate

Scituate never let their opponents score on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 28-0 win over the Toll Gate Titans. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.

Scituate got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aiden Grover out in front who rushed for 66 yards and one TD on only six carries, and also threw for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Grover's passing game has become a key predictor of the Spartans' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Scituate's leading receiver John Rubiano was Grover's top target yet again, picking up 42 receiving yards and two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Scituate was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Scituate's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Toll Gate, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Scituate didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-20 loss against Narragansett on the 25th. As for Toll Gate, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 30-0 defeat against Davies Career & Tech on the 24th.
