Basketball Recap: Lauren Gerenser's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Vintage over Sonoma Valley

Vintage won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They came up short against the Sonoma Valley Dragons, falling 57-33. The Crushers have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Crushers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lauren Gerenser, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Vintage's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Sonoma Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vintage will venture away from home to take on Justin-Siena at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sonoma Valley, they are taking a road trip to challenge American Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in American Canyon's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Sonoma Valley has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
