Baseball Game Preview: Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils vs. Dakota Cougars

Grosse Pointe South is 2-8 against Dakota since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will challenge the Cougars at 4:00 p.m.

Grosse Pointe South is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Rochester on Saturday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2.

Grosse Pointe South saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Young, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI was Young's first of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Dakota duked it out with Fenton on Saturday. Neither the Cougars nor the Tigers could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for an 8-8 draw.

Grosse Pointe South's defeat dropped their record down to 21-16. Dakota's tie makes their record 13-13-1 this season.

Grosse Pointe South came up short against Dakota in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, falling 7-3. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
