Football Game Preview: West Point-Beemer Cadets vs. Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders

The West Point-Beemer Cadets are taking a road trip to square off against the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Point-Beemer will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

West Point-Beemer played against Oakland-Craig on Friday and won via forfeit.

On Friday, Grand Island Central Catholic humbled St. Paul with a 49-15 victory. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Grand Island Central Catholic's win came from a few key players West Point-Beemer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Connor Haney, who picked up 162 receiving yards and three scores. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 71 yards. Grand Island Central Catholic also got a significant boost from Jack Alberts, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 96 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Grand Island Central Catholic's defense and their 3.5 sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Owen Price, Graham Stava, and Brandon Cloud, who each picked up one sack apiece. Grand Island Central Catholic got some further help from Price: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made four total tackles (2.0 for loss).

West Point-Beemer's record now sits at 6-3. As for Grand Island Central Catholic, their record is now 8-1.
