Softball Recap: Jackson County Gets the Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Jackson County walked away with it. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Lanier Longhorns on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now won seven in a row.

Morgan Clendenen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaden Norris, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Jackson County's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Lanier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-15.

As of now, neither Jackson County nor the Longhorns have any future games scheduled.
