It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Tift County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Cook Hornets 4-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won four games in a row.

Lily Robinson spent all 8.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 17 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hannah Grace Murphy, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Tift County's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Cook, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Tift County and Cook will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Blue Devils are set to take on their familiar foe Lowndes at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cook will square off against rival Crisp County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
