Baseball Game Preview: Oneida Express vs. Carthage Comets

The Oneida Express will venture away from home to take on the Carthage Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Monday, Oneida came up short against Proctor and fell 9-5. The Express haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Sam Gaudet and Jack LeWorthy stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gaudet got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, while LeWorthy got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Carthage started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Beaver River. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beavers on Wednesday.

Oneida's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Carthage, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Oneida got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 against Carthage by a conclusive 14-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Express since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
