Soccer Game Preview: Sandy Creek vs. Troup County

The Sandy Creek Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Troup County Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandy Creek's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Sandy Creek's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mary Persons on Friday.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. Troup County won by a goal and slipped past Fayette County 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Troup County was the better team in the second half.

Troup County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Sandy Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Sandy Creek took their win against Troup County in their previous meeting back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sandy Creek since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
