Football Recap: Dorman Takes a Loss

Dorman fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Greenwood on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the Eagles were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 42-41 defeat. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Greenwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tristan Lewis led the charge by throwing for 423 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 75 yards and one score. The Eagles' leading receiver Nyjaviese Duncan was Lewis' top target yet again, picking up 167 receiving yards and three TDs.

Dorman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Greenwood, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Dorman and Riverside will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. This will be the Cavaliers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Greenwood, they will be playing at home against Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
