Baseball Recap: Dutchtown Comes Up Short

Dutchtown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 12-1 to the Northgate Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Wednesday.

Devin Kendall made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Logan Leonard, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Dutchtown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Northgate, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Dutchtown will take on rival Langston Hughes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Northgate is set to face off against their familiar foe Banneker at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Northgate's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Banneker has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
