Soccer Game Preview: River City vs. Pioneer

The River City Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneer Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. River City's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

River City is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Vacaville on Tuesday. River City fell just short of Vacaville by a score of 1-0. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Pioneer had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Vanden by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Olivia Chavez had to tread lightly for part of the match after she was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble the Patriots got from the refs.

Pioneer hit Vanden with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Maylina Ruiz, Jillian Tang, and Chavez.

Pioneer now has a winning record of 5-4. As for River City, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-2.
