Softball Recap: Appling County Falls Short of Sonoraville in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Appling County couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Sonoraville Phoenix on Friday, falling 9-0. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.

Appling County's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Sonoraville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 26 of their last 27 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Appling County and Sonoraville will both be playing Morgan County the next time they take the field. The Pirates will head out to face the Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Phoenix will play them later in the day, at 1:15 p.m.
