Last Monday, Hearts Academy made easy work of Covington Academy and carried off a 14-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Chalie Bill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bill was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-1. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Gavin Dyson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Dyson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Jameson Wood also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Hearts Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone Prep Academy came up short against Cherokee Christian on Tuesday and fell 13-9. The loss continues a trend for Cornerstone Prep Academy in their meetings with Cherokee Christian: they've now lost seven in a row.
Isaiah Stahl made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Coleson Ruplin, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Hearts Academy's record now sits at 3-1. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hearts Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cornerstone Prep Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
