Baseball Recap: Addison Comes Up Short

If Addison was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of East Jackson on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers came up short against the Homer Trojans on Friday, falling 17-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 back in April.

Jacob Wright was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Logan Jewell made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Addison's record is now 6-16. As for Homer, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season.

Addison will take on Waldron at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Homer, they will square off against Jackson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
