Football Game Preview: Aliso Niguel Wolverines vs. Millikan Rams + Official Tickets

The Aliso Niguel Wolverines will square off against the Millikan Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Aliso Niguel barely beat Fountain Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Barons with a sharp 31-10 victory on Thursday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-3.

Aliso Niguel had a senior duo take command as Carter Vestermark threw for 273 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt and Dane Malloy picked up 156 receiving yards and one score. Malloy's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards.

One reason for the win was Aliso Niguel's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Corey Lewis was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

Millikan never got on the board in their matchup back in October, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Compton last Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over the Tarbabes. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Tarbabes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Aliso Niguel better keep an eye on Jude Nelson. He was instrumental in Millikan's win, picking up 151 receiving yards and four touchdowns. They are 2-1 when Nelson posts 100 or more receiving yards, but 3-4 otherwise. Jay Williams also helped out with an impressive 115 receiving yards.

Millikan's run defense was locked in: Compton could only muster -1.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Karim Almulhim for the heroic effort on defense: he. Millikan's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 2.3.

The win got Millikan back to even at 5-5. As for Aliso Niguel, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
