Football Recap: Loomis Wolves vs. Anselmo-Merna Coyotes

Loomis blew Anselmo-Merna out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Anselmo-Merna got their revenge. The Wolves fell just short of the Coyotes by a score of 48-46. The Wolves were up 26-12 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Perhaps the best among those players was Graham Trompke, who threw for 301 yards and four TDs on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 104 yards and one score on only 13 carries. Trompke's longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Loomis' leading receiver Tyson Freeman was Trompke's top target yet again, picking up 174 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Dane Duryea had an outrageously good game for Anselmo-Merna as he rushed for 191 yards and five TDs, and also threw for 127 yards and one touchdown. Those 127 passing yards gave Duryea a new career-high. Tim Myers also helped with two scores in total.
