Soccer Game Preview: Kearny vs. Canyon Hills

Kearny hasn't had much luck against Canyon Hills recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Kearny Komets will head out on the road to face off against the Canyon Hills Rattlers at 6:00 p.m. Canyon Hills took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Kearny, who comes in off a win.

Kearny will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Friday, then bounced right back against Preuss UCSD on Monday. Kearny put the hurt on Preuss UCSD with a sharp 4-1 victory. Considering the Komets' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Despite a strong season so far, Canyon Hills has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They came up short against Mira Mesa on Friday, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that the Rattlers have lost by exactly three goals.

Canyon Hills' loss dropped their record down to 14-3-2. As for Kearny, their win bumped their record up to 5-13-2.

Kearny suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to Canyon Hills in their previous meeting back in January. Can Kearny avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
