Football Game Preview: Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets vs. Elk River Elks

Cambridge-Isanti hasn't had much luck against Elk River recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bluejackets will head out on the road to face off against the Elks at 6:00 p.m. Cambridge-Isanti has given up an average of 29.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Friday, Cambridge-Isanti was beaten by Spring Lake Park 42-12. While losing is never fun, the Bluejackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Panthers are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Elk River played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 52-16 loss at the hands of Alexandria. The Elks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.

Cambridge-Isanti will have to keep a close watch on Dylan Ramert and Caleb Healy, a pair of players who had a big impact on Elk River's prior game. Ramert rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown, while Healy rushed for 63 yards and one TD. Ramert showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards.

Cambridge-Isanti's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Elk River, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Cambridge-Isanti took a serious blow against Elk River in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 54-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Elks' Carsyn Kleffman, who rushed for 128 yards and three scores on only eight carries.
