Basketball Recap: Claremont Snags Ninth Win in Last 11 Games

Claremont won the last time they faced Ayala and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Claremont Wolfpack snuck past the Ayala Bulldogs with a 49-45 win. Given the Wolfpack's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 444th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rachel Chen, who posted 13 points. Peyton Yang was another key player, putting up ten points.

Claremont has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for Ayala, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Claremont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-47 victory against Diamond Bar on the 16th. As for Ayala, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-27 loss against Bonita on the 16th.
