Softball Game Preview: Latta Panthers vs. Stratford Bulldogs

Latta is a perfect 6-0 against Stratford since August of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Latta is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Latta duked it out with Wewoka on Monday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 18-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stratford). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Maud a 13-0 shutout on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Latta's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Stratford, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Latta beat Stratford 7-2 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
