Soccer Game Preview: Oakland vs. Valley Christian

The Oakland Wildcats will head out to challenge the Valley Christian Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Oakland's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Oakland fell victim to Bishop O'Dowd and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Dragons, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Valley Christian was not quite Mt. Diablo's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 2-1. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Oakland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Oakland took their win against Valley Christian in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 11-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakland since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
