Mountain Range took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Westminster, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs won by a run and slipped past the Wolves 9-8. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 13-7 victory the Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.
Mountain Range got a massive performance out of Omari Salazar Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of MacKenzie King, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Mountain Range always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westminster only posted an OBP of .333.
Mountain Range's record is now 3-5. As for Westminster, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Range will welcome Boulder at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.44 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Westminster, they will host Northglenn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
