Basketball Game Preview: Ramona Bulldogs vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils

Ramona is 2-8 against Mt. Carmel since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ramona Bulldogs will challenge the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 5:30 p.m.

Ramona is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 68-11 defeat at the hands of Valley Center. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1277th, while the Jaguars are ranked 584th).

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Golden Eagles 70-23. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Sundevils had established a 44 point advantage.

Mt. Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Ramona, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.

Ramona took a serious blow against Mt. Carmel when the teams last played last Tuesday, falling 100-15. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ramona was down 61-6.
